What is Amateur Chamber Players?

Amateur Chamber Players is a network for chamber musicians at UW-Madison.

Many students come out of high school (or a couple years of college) looking to continue in music – but don’t want to commit the 10+ hours a week demanded by an orchestra. That’s why our mission is to provide a more casual student outlet for chamber ensembles. Each semester, our club members form small groups of 3-5 musicians with a shared interest in musical style. We provide practice space as well as concert venues for groups to perform. Practice schedules, musical selections, etc. are left intentionally unguided so that groups can feel free to experiment. ACP is welcome to all, whether you’re a trained classical violinist, or just picking up guitar for the first time.
